STATE MERCHANT FLEET
REASON FOR AUSTRALIA’S ACTION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, November 6. “The Times,” in an article - in its Trade supplement, states that the Australian Government’s action in building up a State merchant fleet Is undoubtedly partly due to the feeling that under present conditions it is undesirable, if not dangerous, for an island nation to ho completely dependent on uncontrolled shipping accommodation.
