EXPORT OF TIMBER
AMENDING KEGULATIONS. By an Order-in-Council gazetted yesterday, amending regulations have been made with regard to tho export of timber. The mam provisions are: (1) After a notice has been given fixing the quantity of timber of any kind or grade, required to be reserved from any sawmill for use in New Zealand, it shall not bo lawful for anv 'person (whether a sawniiller or not) to export sawn timber of tkot kind or grade, being the production of that sawmill (whether produced before or after the deiiverv of the notice), except pursuant to a permit issued in that behalf by tho Board of Trade. (2) "Every person who, after tho commencement'of this Order-in-Council, proposes to export any timber of a kind or grade to which «• notice under the principal regulations applies shall produce to the Collector of Customs at the port of shipment tho permit to export such timber, and shall furnish to the Collector:— ~, > (a) Particulars as to the quantity, kind, and grade of timber proposed to be Exported; (b) Particulars as to the sawmill at which tho timber was produced; and (c) A declaration under tho Customs Act. 1313. that the proposed export is in conformity with tho Timber Regulations and with the permit of tho Board of Trade."
