The Minister for War (Mr Winstot Churchill) speaking in London saidi "We are recruiting a now army foi two'arid three years' service, at the rate of over a thousand a day. "It is essential, iu order to disarm Germany and to secure reparation, which 'we are determined to get, to maintain a strong and well disciplined army on the Rhine." There was no intention of sending a large British force to Russia. If Russia was to bo saved, it must be by her own exertion.
