SATISFACTORY SETTJtEMENT IN PROSPECT.

The conference between the General Manager of Railways and the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, which was commenced on Thursday was continued yesterday morning. A prolonged discussion took place, and the society clearly explained the nature and cause of their demands. The utmost good feeling prevailed, and there is every prospect of a satisfactory settlement being arrived at The society has agreed to confer with the Minister of Railways and the management during March, to further consider the various matters presented.
