(From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTEBTON, February 15. Every day brings evidence' that the housing problem in Masterton is a serious matter. It was stated at the Trust Lands Trust meeting last evening that no less than fourteen persons were living in a six-roomed house owned by the Trust. . , , r A cable message received in Masterton yesterday afternoon announced the death* from pneumonio influenza in England of Captain E. Eiddiford, M.C. The deceased was 33 years of age, and the only eon of the lata Mr E. Eiddiford. He leaves one sistor (Mrs Robert Levin, of Feilding). The Misses McCrea, of arc step-sisters of deceased, and Mr lan McCrea is a step-brother. Mr F. C Tumor does not intend again, to bo a candidate for the Elketahuna Mayoralty. „ A meeting of returned soldiers at Carterton formed itself into nn association to acquire land under section 3 of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act. Mr J. H. Bishop was appointed secretary.
