DILAPIDATED BUILDINGS
A specimen . report of a sanitary inspector employed by the "Wellington Hospital Board is given hereunder, ns a topical instance of the state of many Wellington houses and shops : Visited and found the following defects : I. Two windows in shop front are broke’n (since repaired). _ " 2- Door between shop and diningroom has a glass pane broken. 3. Dining-room window does not open, and frame is out of repair. 4. Kitchen paper is full of fly marks. 5 Kitchen window-frame is out of repair, and has a broken cord. 6. Washhouse has a concrete floor, having rotten coverings of linoleum. Floor requires attention. 7. Front bedroom (1) has paper hanging loose on front wall. Tho window does not open from tho top. 8. Front bedroom (2) has paper hanging from the ceiling. Tho window does not open from tne. top. 9. The roof, leaks at tho caves on the landing. 10. Tho w.c. flushing cistern in bathroom leaks where last soldered on bottom. 11. Top window-sash of bathroom does not open. 12. Landing floor outside back bedroom window is out of repair. I visited these promises with the Public Trust inspector of property, who is having tho matter attended to.
