Tho Richardson steamer Kiritona is expected at AVellington about next Sunday from Napier to load case oil fer Gisborne. The Wakatu has been delayed at Lyttelton through shortage of labour. Tho vessel, which is a “clean" ship, is expected back at AVellington to-night from Lyttelton via Kaikoura, and will sail on the return trip to-morrow. The Union Company steamer Tarawera was duo at Bluff last night from Sydney with a large shipment of general cargo for discharge at Bluff anti Dunedin. The vessel should arrive at Dunedin tomorrow. Tho Kept, which comes to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company, is on her way from London, via Capetown and Australia, to New Zealand ports. She is due to leave Sydney oh Sunday morning for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. It is expected that tho vessel will arrive at Wellington about December 12th. On completion of discharge she will take i'n cargo for .London. Mr J. A. Moyes has joined the KJipiti as engineer in place of Mr F. AV. Armstrong, who is recovering from influenza. Captain Johnson resumed command of the Baden Powell yesterday. Mr J. M. Reeves rejoined as mate, and Mr William Webster as engineer. Mr J. J. Smith has joined the Kapuni as mate in place of Air Johansen, who is recovering from influenza. Mr Geo. Nelson has rejoined the vessel as engineer. Tho Marine Department has received ■ advice that the assistant lightkeeper at the Cape Foulvrind lighthouse has became stricken with influenza. At 10 o’clock yesterday the Union Company's cargo steamer Kurow, which arrived in the stream the pro; ions evening from San Francisco via Papeete, bertheu at No. 16, Jervois quay. Pratique havling been granted, the deck cargo oi American 'emeus and motor-cans was discharged. The remainder of the cargo will not bo worked until this morning owing to extensive fumigation being carried out. / Tho Kurow left San Francisco on October 26th after being delayed in the stream for a week owing to a shortage in her crew. Tho vessel arrived at Papeete on Thursday morning, November 14th, and after replenishing her bunkers, resumed her voyage on tho following day. Fine weather throughout the passage until withlin three days of AVellington, when a strong southerly -blow with high seas was encountered, which lasted forty-eight hours. The Kurow has a large general cargo and a quantity of case oil, the whole of which will be put out at Wellington. The vessel will subsequently load at this port for San Francisco. The crow will bo paid ofi to-day. ; AA 7 hile at San Francisco several members of the crow were •stricken with influenza and removed to a hospital ashore. Mr R. , Lewis, the second engineer, died from the malady. Mr T. C. Sawyers (second officer), Mr T. Robertson (third officer), and Air E. J. Steer (fourth ctogineerrj, were loft in tho. hospital at San Francisco, besides other members of the crow. HINEMOA RESUMES. After being delayed at AVellington for eevera 1 days owing to a shortage in her crew the Hinemoa left port at 2 p.m. yesterday (for the Akaroa lighthouse, where stores are badly needed, and other southern lighthouses. The vessel was still one A. 13. short of her complement but this was compensated for in a measure by the fact that there are three extra boys on the articles. It is anticipated that an A.B. will bo obtained at Dunedin, whore a man has been advertised for. PORT ALMA SAILS TO-DAY. Captain A. C. Hoad, master of the Cunard liner Port Alma, who was loft behind at Sydney some weeks ago owing to illness, arrived at AVellington yesterday, having come across to Auckland by the Suffolk and proceeded thence by the Main Trunk express. Ho has .resumed command of the Port Alma, which is to leave Wellington to-day at 3 p.m. for Lyttelton, from which port sho is to sail about December 7th for Egypt. DORSET FOR AUCKLAND. Owing to circumstances, tho Dorset, which was en route from Sydney to Wellington for loading, has now been diverted, by wireless, to Auckland, where she i, duo on Monday next. Tho vessel is expected to reach Wellington from Auckland oh December 9th to complete her cargo for Egypt, and will sail from here on December 14th for Port Said.
