Does Organised Labour favour State Control as a solution for tho Liquor Traffic? The New Zealand Labour Partry, although declaring, for democratic reasons, that State Control should' be on the ballot-paper, decidedly refused to commit themselves to it as a policy. The Labour men of Great Britain ■ want Prohibition. Recent votes in industrial centres in England, Scotland, and Wales give a majority in ovory case for Wartime Prohibition. Annan, where the Government public-housos are, voted over 3 to 1 for Prohibition. Paisley, m Scotland, registered 11,182 for and 1178 against, or- over 9 'to 1. Hull gave an U. 512 majority,- while Lesmahagow, jn Scotland, topped the -lot with a SO to 1 verdict. The- total Tor 27 centres was— For Prohibition, 166,693; against Prohibition. 78,066; a majority for Prohibition, 88,627. New Zealand Labour will follow this splendid lead.—Advt.
