THT CRTSTALATB CHAMPIONSHIP. The second (round of the above tournament was oommenoed last night-the first game being between Rait (Trentham Camp) and Mead (Petone Working Men's Club). Bait; did not show his usual form owing principally to doing heavy exercises at the camp. Mead, on the other hand, was in good form, and had amount of luck with the run of the balls, and reached his 800 points when Rait's soore stood at 257. The second game between Congdon (Masterton) and Hamilton (Federal Club) was very interesting. Congdon gave a splendid exhibition of all-round billiards, his top of the table work and losing hazards being particularly fine. Hamilton did not appear to settle down to his game until the last stages were reached, when it was too lato. Congdon ran to his 300 points when Hamilton was 110. The best breaks of the evening were— Congdon, 46, 44, 32, 40; Hamilton, 19, 15, IS, 12. Mead. 33, 24, 22, 21; Rait, 19, 14, 13, 12.
