(By "Eileen.") WANGANUI, September 18. _ Mrs Firth, of Auckland, was a visitor to Wanganui last week. Mrs Williams, of Timaru, has been on a visit to friends in Wanganui. Kochi'ort, Maori Warrior; Miss Swan, Harem Lady; Mr B. Glasgow, Coster; Miss Joan Biggie, Quakeress; Miss Bignell, Hod, \Viiito and Blue; Miss Cullmane, Poudro- and Patches; Mr Edwards, flannels; Miss Woptton, Folly; Nurse Armstrong, Fortune-teller; Miss Robinson, Eastern Lady; Miss Lotty Beli, Night; Mr C, Conner, Pierrot; Mr D'Arcy, Chinaman:. Mr B. Howe, Indian; Mr Cullinane, Early English Gentleman ;' Miss Comyns, Poppy; Mr Gambles, Pierrot; Mr J. Rawson, Clown. The members of the Male Choir gave a social evening to the honorary members and their lady friends on "Wednesday. Tho, Fire Brigade Hall was crowded. The president, Mr J. C. Richardson, welcomed the guests, and explained that a Quartet competition would'take !place, the visitors to he tho judges';.'':.;The,re were six entries, and first place was sy.on. by .the No. 4 quartet, No ■ 3 being second. During the evening vocal items ware given by Mr Jensen, Mrs Worth (encored), Miss Jensen, a flute solo bv Mr von Haast, and a concertina solo: by "Mr Sheply (encored). Mr Swan, jour., gave a recitation. Supper was tihen served, after which dancing was indulged in. till midnight. A handsome framed picturo of.the choir was presented by Mr Denton. The photos' were : arranged on a large., lyre,. the'.oldest heing at J.ubileo group lias also been promised to the.cboir by Mr Denton, and 'a' Vote of thafuks was passed With loud applause. ■ «». ■
