NEW ZEALAND UTILITY CLUB FOURTEENTH EGG-LAYING- COMPETITION FOE FOWLS. RESULTS OF TWENTY-THIRD WEEK. Special to the "Times." CHRISTCHURCH. September 19. The twenty-third week of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's fourteenth egg-laying competition ended on September 17th. Results are as follows: LIGHT BREEDS.

■POINTERS. Collect eggs as often as possible; eggs exposed to the sun K ° off rapidly. Cull out all doubtful hens and males not required. Keep only tlio best. Water must be clean and as cool as possible. Renew twice daily if possible. Avoid stalo meat. Add. skim milk to mash. It is far safer and of almost equal value as an egg-getter. Add a little sulphur to the mash -while in heavy moult. This will assist leather production and cool the blood. Liniewash the houses. It not only cools houses, but keeps down tho hco. Watch perches for red mite; clean up weekly.
