BUILDING COMMANDEERED AT TIMARTJ. Press Association." TIMARU. September 19. After negotiating for some time with tho owners, the Defence Depuartment has decided to commandeer for a convalescent home for soldiers, the building recently erected for tho Anglican Boys' Orphanage, a couple of miles from Tiraaru. at a cost of'about £15,000. The orphanage has been occupied a week by tho boys. Previously it was in a hired building. The Government pay £BOO a year, but this is inadequate, and the Red Cross and War Relief Society ad 3 a joint donation of £2OO a year.
