SUMMARY OF PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. Strong easterly winds have prevailed in the far north, but variable breezes have ruled elsewhere. Showers have fallen in the northern and cast coast districts of the North Island, but cool and fair to cloudy weather has prevailed.
