MIRAMAR AFFAIRS
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Miramar Borough Council was held last evening. The Mayor (Mr F. Townsend) presided, there being also present—Councillors Green, Tracy, and Eobertshaw. Mr Boon, representing the Fire Brigade, acting onthe instructions of i bat body, asked that three delegates from the council bo appointed to meet three members, of .the, brigade, for the purpose of , removing,. some grievances that exist. Tt. yjras',,decided that the desire of the 'Fifeßrigade bo acceded , to, and the Mayor, Councillors Chapman and Eobertshaw be appointed to go into the matter. —■■■“— ■ ■ A letter was 1 '- received from ,Mr H. Simmonds asking for permission to cut an entrance from Corn wall street, to bis gate, and'also to plant trees in front of .his fence.—This was granted. Messrs J. A. Bodpath and Sons wrote stating that since tho recent frosts in the South Island had cracked thousands of tiles during the process of baking, the supply .. which the . council had ordered would not be available at present. - ..The report of the engineer stating that it was unnecessary to include the ammonia and oxygen cylinders in the list of, dangerous- goods was ’ adopted.
