-PLANS FOB-NEW-'AY ABU : ; ; APPROVED. -The monthly meeting ■ of the'Hospital and Charitable.-,-'Aid'; Board- was held - yesterday- afternoon. There • were present Messr- B. -’Baldwin 1 (chairman), O. J. -McCurdy,; F. 1. M° or ®» F. Castld, B. C. B. -Btirn, W.-J. Thompson,, D. CampbbU, J . W. -McEwen, Beys. Dr J.. K.vElhott and HVan . S-tavercu, and Mcsdames McLaren, McVicar, and Neill. , ' ; It ■ was decided,. on the', recommendation of tlio hospital , cpinmitte©, that in .future no works, involving an expenditure of more than '£2s, be earned put without tho authority of the secretary. ’ . Advice was received-that,the balance of• tho X-ray plant should- arrive about the end- of ■ September. \ On the motion. of /the ■chairman, it was. decided to* adopt .the plan and estimate for, tho erection of a new ward over Xo. 4. ■ - Mr Baldwin pointed',put that the original idea :.of tho .'.board 'to bufjd offices had, not. been agreed .to by, the •Minister. In 1914 plans, were drawp for; a ward' oyer-No." 4 ward, which, when built, would W few alterations introspect ;tb. the po-tients in wards 3 and 4. -. '-The present offices would' be . used , for t-ho , X-ray' room, which - was, at present .congested. The Minister,. Dr - Frengly,’ and-: the superintendent' (Dr Barclay) had; approved of tho, suggestion, and; ho;; alteration ol the plan's would be-necessary. It was hoped that '-tho/Charitiihio Aid offices could ,-bo transferred ,to ityo" hospital. ' Bev. Dr.; said he understood that what; was' required/for tho i X-ray was a Targe 'room, ’ awl -he 'desired to kfiow ■if it was intended to turn it into a : ward with" beds.-' ; Dr Barclay.' said that/the X-ray department would be a; series of rooms where tho work coiuld bo carried out efficiently.'
