RUGBY FOOTBALL
WELLINGTON COLLEGE v. PETONESpecial interest is being taken in the first meeting of Wellington vxtuege anu Petone. both teams being exponents of clever football. Petone is the leading team in the 1918 senior championship, while College are competing for the first season as u fullfledged senior team. The boys (of the forwards four arc under 17 and three under IS years of ago) have already shown wonderful form, for they were beaten by a single point only by did Boys (14-13 j in their opening match, and have since defeated Universitv 14-13, and Wellington 23-21. As far as is known at present the teams will be : Wellington College Meadowcroft. Nicol. Bull. Davidson. Smith. Nioholls, Ward. Barclay. Dighton. Toogvod, Hum. Moncrief. Burns. Jones. MoColl. Petone—Fowler, Hamilton, A. D. and C. Thomas. Nylan. Pole. Corner. Nicholls, A. and A. E. Parker, Dickens, Ambler, Shanahan. Wylie. Referee—Mr L. Simpson. Each team will he captained bv a son of Sid. Nicholls, of Pouske fame in years past. It is probable that J. N. Mallard, the ex-’Varsity (Dunedin) and Otago representative player, will appear in the College team.
