FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

The management committee of the Football Association met last evening. There were present: Messrs A. E. Wells (chair), C. Webster, W. Duncan, B. Hill, W. AuW. A. Williams, and A. ESmith. A letter was received from Mr Mardh’ant, of the Seatoun Club, entering a team in the Sixth Division, A letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association {Wellington Centre) asking that members attend a meeting to be held •in the Boys' Institute on Friday evening next, with the object of forming a Swimming and Life-Saving Club. The .secretary; of the New Zealand Footbabll Association wrote stating that Brown Shield matches would bo resumed, and that special, endeavours be made by the local association a to have the game introduced in tho secondary schools. A report wag received from the delegates who attended tho Now Zealand •Football Association. After a lengthy discussion the report received from tho delegates attending the annual meeting was adopted,. Mr MoCrorie, one of the delegates, offered to provide a championship flag for the schools' competition for the season 1918, which was accepted with thanks. It was decided to ask tho N.Z.F. Association to receive a deputation from the W.F.A. at a meeting to be held on Friday evening. Messrs Wells andAuld were appointed to attend. It wns decided to call a special general meeting of the supporters of the game to discuss general business, and also grounds at Kjibirnio. Messrs Wells, Windley, and Yeoman were selected as a selection committee for representative teams. A challenge to tbo Canterbury Football Association for the Brown Shield will bo issued. The N.Z.F. Association is to be asked to furnish the Association, with a bal-ance-sheet and report for the purpose of record.
