NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW
SECOND DAY FURTHER RESULTS OF JUDGING. (From. Our Special Reporter.) PALMERSTON, June ID. The second day of the National Dairy Show opened in line but threatening weather. There was a good attendance in the morning,, and it increased materially during the afternoon, when about 12,(HD were present. The principal atlUrautkm, outside the exhibits, was a football match between representatives of To Ante (native) and Wanganui Colleges. This is an annual fixture at the show, and is responsible for a large number of visitors—parents and relations of the boys—who come long distances to witness the game. Last year Te Ante wen. successful. Dairy farmers are present from all parts of the North Island to attend the annual conference of the. National Dairy Association, while a number of other meetings in connection with the farming industry are also being held. HONEY DIVISION. Tha exhibits in honey and beeswax are up to the standard. The winners were: Jars (white). C. G. Clayton, Peel Forest; jars (granulated), C. F. Raine, Inahn; jars .liquid ambqjjj, Mrs G. Allison, Marton; honeycomb, C. F. Paine; yellow beeswax, turned from mould, Mrs GAllison; bleached beeswax, C. G. Clayton; honey vinegar, C. F. Kaine; best display of honey and beeswax, C. G. Clayton 1, C. F. Raine 2. POULTRY CLASSES. The poultry exhibits, which were judged to-day, number Idti'J, being an increase of Hi over the entries, of Inst year. Speoial prizes were awarded to: J. Comings (cimstciuircnj for iuinorca piulet, A. C-. Aubrey (Waipawu; for wmusingle comb English Legaorn hen, John Urlicli ’(.Hawera) for American single comb Leghorn cockerel, B. A. Fraser (Xailmpe) for Llaca Urpiugtou cockeiv., Mrs F. G. Johnson (Palmerston North; for brown Leghorn pullet, John Crlica American type Leghorn hen, and for cock, also in ulmcy masses tor American oighorn, and W. A. Sowman (Blenheim) lor Silver Wyandotte cock. In Old English Game Oscar Anderson (Carterton) obtained five arsis and two second awards. J. Laurcnsun (Carterton;* three first, three second ana u third, I. 1). Watson (Palmerston North) two first and three second. S. Milligan (Awahun) three first and two second, G. L. Lees (Bunnythorpo) two second and three third, J. Mclvnight (Carterton) a first, E. J. Smith (Hastings) two first, John Read (Peilding) a first, and G. MoKiniav (Millerton) a third. Andalusians —J. C. "Wallace (Hamilton East( won two firsts. E. Bould (Levin) (wo first, and Mat Campbell (Shannon) two second and a third prize. Plymouth Rocks—This was a _ small class, there being only seven entries. W. Hall (Ltpperton) two, and John Urlich won, first awards. Wvandottes—The first award winners for Wyandottes wore:—B, J. Ross (Christchurch). H. G. Hunt. (Christchurch.) W. Hall (Lepperton) 5. A. Hickling (Hastings), H. E. Cudby (Waitara) 2 W. E. Mathio (Taihape). J. R. Cunninghame (Taihape) 3, John. "Jarvis (Palmerston North). In Min.irons J. Cummings and Stewart and Lnndsperg (Normanby) were the principal prize-takers. W. T. Hicks (Otane) securing a third as did B. Cushing (Clive). In English. Leghorns A. C. Aubrey (Waipawa) gained one first, Stewart and Lnndsperg two first, and B. S. Gray (Rongoteal, A. J. Road (Feilding) and A. M. Ail: kens (Manakau) a first each. In American Leghorns the following won first prizes:—J. McKenzie (Taihape). L. Piernrd (Palmerston North) and John TJ-rlich. Hambunrs—There _was poor competition in this class. vV. A. Wallis (Auckland) and A. B. Bush (Hokowhitu). Orpingtp'.as—There was only fair competition, the prizes being awarded to B. A. Fraser (Taihape) two firsts. VV. BBenson (Feilding) two first and W. THicks (Otane) a first.
Bantams—Mrs L. Balks (Lower Hutt) exhibit of a Modern Game Pile cook was adjudged to Tie the best bird of Its class in. the show, this exhibitor won two first) prizes, A. JDoig (Levin) three, and Cvril Outfield (Palmerston North) three; while in Rosecomba J. 8. McKeeman (Palmerston North), B. J. Watson (Palmerson North), and W. F. Stent (Taihape) each secured a first.
In. Pekins Misses E. and Tv. Mawkes (Palmerston North) two. and Miss C. Welch (Wanganui) won first prizes while in other varieties of bantams Mrs John Lane (Hokowhitu) ,was the successful exhibitor.
. UtUity Classes The prize-winners (first only being mentioned) were Mmoroas C. F. Purton and Son (Palmerston North) 4; Leghorns. T. Bruce (Palmerston North) 3: Henry Bower (Levin) ; Mrs B. 6. Johnson; American Leghorns, John Urlich 2. T. O’Noill (Hastings), and ilenrv Kerr (Feilding); Orpingtons. h. J. Hunt (Ronjpotea) and B. A. Fraser; Wyandottes. W. A. Sowman (Blenheim) 3. Mrs E. G. Johnson. Witting Classes—The winners were- Orpingtons. C. F. Purton and Son, and W J. Prentice: Leghorns, E. Potty; Minorca.?. W. J. Prentice and C. F. Purton and Son; Rhodes Island. Mrs I W Lovelock. ' '
Breeding Pons—ln this class C. F Purton and Son, and A. E. Era no carried off tho awards.

Ducks—Stewart and Landaperg five firsts, J. A. Cookpley (Longbxnn) two, XL T. Jamieson (Foxtou) three, John Driver (Wanganui) two. Mat Campbell two, Mrs John Drake (Palmerston North) two, F. G. Bishop (Greatford) two, S. H. Scott (sTew Plymouth), W. J. Prentice.
CANARY AND PIGEON AWARDS. The following are awards in the canary classes, firsts only being mentioned; Norwich canaries, W. Bull (Wellington) ten, C. Dcnn (Wellington) three, W. inkpen (Palmerston} six, VV. McCnrlio (Wellington); Yorkshires, W. Bull twelve, C. Denny six; roller and selling classes, W. McCarlie two.
First prize winners in the pigeon classes' are:—H. J. Moverley (New Plymouth) ten, C. Robert (Palmerston North) six, E. Griffiths (Palmerston North) three, E. J. Watson (Palmerston North), five, E. J. (Smith (Hastings) six, F. Hosking (Palmerston North) two, F. Hoxall (Palmerston ■ North) two, C. H. Bosworth (Palmerston North) five, T. Stockwell (Palmerston North). S. Mawhinney, J. Taylor, A. Law (Palmerston North), Cyril Hatfield' (Palmerston North), ,W. D. McKenzie seven, W. F. Stent (Taihape) five, B. S. Gray (Rongotca), W. H. Groube (Feilding). J. Moverley was awarded champion and special prize for working homers, and E. J. Smith the reserve championship and special prize.' C. Robert and E. J. Smith also obtained specials. ■ COLLEGE FOOTBALL MATCHES.
The annual football -match between Wanganui and To Auto Colleges was played iu tho afternoon. Wanganui won by 21 points to nil. The game was fast considering the sticky nature of the ground. Tho winners were superior in all departments of tho_ game. Badelcy played a‘splendid game’ at half for Wanganui. Tire scorers were; Porritt, Stevenson,, Tiadelry (two). Macrae and Stewart. Badelcy converted two tries and Bryce one.
