<' r CONDEMNS MR MASSEY’S ATTITUDE ON IRISH QUESTION.
A ,'largoly-nttended meeting of the Maoriland Irish Society (Thomas Davis branch) was held in the Trades Hall last night. Several new members wore enrolled.
A reply was received from the Prime Minister (Mr Massey) acknowledging receipt of a copy of a resolution forwarded to him on the 4th inst. Siren" exception was taken by the meeting to the attitude adopted' by the Prime Minister. The secretary was instructed to reply expressing dissatisfaction with Mr Massey’s statement that he intended using his own judgment if the question of Irish government were discussed at tho forthcoming Imperial Conference, as the society considered he was a representative of tho people of New Zealand, and should he guided' by the opinion expressed on Dish government hy a large and representative Irish association, v It was decided to have several lectures delivered under the auspices of the society.
