CAMP NOTES
FEATHERSTON,
Colonel N. P. Adams. C.M.G., Ca»V Commandant, has approved of the promotion of Corporal J. E. Terry, of the 4Uth Mounted Rifles, to the rank of temporary sergeant. Second Lieutenants A. H. Sage. E. E. Abercrombie, and H- D. Burt, of the Instructional Staff. Cl Camp, have been transferred to C Company, of the 4Uths. On Tuesday next a large number of men who have been in the Cl Camp are to be examined with a view to their being selected for the artillery, mounteds, machine-gunners, signallers. and Medical Corps. " It has been decided to hold inter-unit football matches at an early date, and unit commanders have been invited to hold meetings and appoint delegates to a general meeting to be held in the United Institute on Monday next. First-aid classes, are being commenced on Friday next, and they will be conducted in the Salvation Army Institute each evening. The - Salvation Army chaplain is organising the classes. Another form of winter diversion in the camp is the formation of. a Debating Society, which will, be discussed at a meeting this evening. - Regimental Sergeant-Major C. P. Quinlan has been transferred from Details to the physical training staff. He was previously on this staff at the Cl Camp. Sergeants H. Oliver, G. Liddell, and W. C. O’Brien have been transferred to companies of the Cl Camp. The following officers have been transferred to Trentham Details from the staff at the Cl Camp:—Second Lieutenant A. Lauder. Donaldson, of the 40th N.Z.F.A., have been appointed Fitters, and Gunners G. M, Eoss and IC. J. Eosser, of the 33th ■Artillery, have been promoted to Fitters. Lance-Corporal T. H. Brown, on the strength. o£ grooms and orderlies, has been promoted to corporal, and Gunner B B. Williams, of the 41st Field Artillery, has been made temporary corporal. Captain W. Scott-Watson. of the N./.M.C. has arrived at Featherston Camp, and is posted to the Medical Corps for Second-Lieutenant L. K. G. Bull has been transferred to the 43rd Mounted Rifles and Second-Lieutenant il, Carnahan, lately on the Instructional Staff at the Cl Camp, to D Company, of tho SSths Infantry. . Eegimental Sergeant-Major N. A. Wilson of the N.Z.P.S. (temporary) has reported at Featherston Samp for duty , Sergeant F. Kitto, of the Headquarters Instructional Staff, has been transferred to the 40th Specialists Machine Gun Secfollowing n.0.0.’s of the Instructional Staff at the Cl Camp have been transferred to Trentham Details:—C.S.M.
