Visitors to tlio city for Anzac Day i.ni'ul mnko a point of visiting tho exhibition of sketches now being hold at tho Art Gallery iu Whitmore street; city residents also will find much there to delight and interest thohi. The sales of pictures recorded to date include Mr Bowling's excellent full length portrait sketch of tiurgeon-Gcnora 1 Henderson. His sketch the "Hospital Ship" has also been acquired for a private collection. Amongst other sales may be noted:— 1 “Feluccas, Isninilia,” "Mixed Bazaar, Cairo" "livening, Uo.lraeir,'’ "Edinburgh Castle.'-’ "Tho Thames" and ‘‘Torpcchan street" by A. X-’. Hicoll, S.S.A.; Xho Gorf,e-Crowncd Hill,” “Side lame, Faita" "Hntt Diver," and "Lyall Bay. by A. Bender; a "sketch” and some dainty pen and ink illustrations by Mrs Iv. K. llobison; “Mt. Cook," “inlie do Beaumont." and “Hake Maponrika," by C H. ifownrlh; “The Angel’s Botreat. Happy Valley,” by It. L. Tiugey; “Titabi Bay," bv Miss McEldowney; ‘Life Study,” a delightful little, pencil drawing by C. Hay Campbell; and “White Pines,” by W. IF. Pratt. Tho procee<l3 of tire latter are to bo handed to the Ke.d Cross Fund. Tho Gallery rs open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
