CAMP NOTES
TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS. The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Trentham Camp Commandant (Colonel B. R. Potter, C.M.G.) : Headquarters.—Corporals H. G. Hughes, S. A. Hall to be sergeants. S Company, 41st. Reinforcements.— Private G. F. to be corporal. C Company, 36th Reinforcements. — Lance-Corporal x>. B. Wilson to be corporal; Privates F. T. Munro, D. M. Thorn to be lance-corporals. A Company, 40th Reinforcements.— Privates J. E- Fitzgerald. E. N. Pankhurst, J. H. Thomas, V. F. Ce. Hay and G.,F. Burns to bo lance-corporals.
FEATHERSTON. The Camp Commandant (Colonel N. P. Adams, 0.M.G.) has approved of the following temporary appointments: —'Private G. Woods, of the Medical Corps, has appointed corporal; and" tho following of D Company, CI, have been promoted to the rank of temporary sergeants:—Corporals E. M. Wright, M. G. Gudgeon and F. J. Coles; Corporals N. W. Carter and H. Yaxley, of the 42nd Mounteds, hare been made sergeants; and Privates T. A. Cronin and F. N. Carter, of the same unit have been made lance-cor-porals; Sergeant E. C. SmiUj, of the 40th Field Artillery, has been promoted to sergeant-major. The following officers have, been transferred from 01- camp to I> Company of the 40ths: —2nd Lieutenants J. Courtney, J. Osborne, T. G. Gordon, and H. E. Martin; 2nd Lieutenant H. S. Wagstaff has been.' transferred to tho Gl camp and 2nd' Lieutenant J. M. Evans to D Company, 38tha.. Further temporary appointments, approved by the Camp Commandant, are as follow :-*-Sergeant A. Groves, of tho 37th M.R., to ho squadron Q.M.sorgeantj Corporal T. A. Raid, of the 37th M.R., to be sergeant; Private A. Leckie, of the 37th M.R., to bo corporal. Lieutenant G. Denniston has arrived in camp and has been posted to the 41st Mounteds; Lieutenant W. H. J. Poole, of tho Dental Corps, has reported in camp from tho Donttl Corps, Awapuni. 2nd Lieutenants M. Clark, G. A. Hamilton, L. B. Rowey and H. B. Lnsk have been transferred to tho 01 camp. Mr H. Hall andi party, from Masterton, gave an enjoyable concert in tho Y.M.C.A. Institute ai Featherston camp last evening. Lieutenant C. R. Prime, of Auckland, has Teported in camp for duty with the Dental Corps. The 39th Specialist Company p,o to Papawai to-day for further training. 2nd Lieutenant V. H. Sanson has been posted to the CI camp. Mr W. Gondio and a party of singers from Wellington will give give a concert in the Y.M.C.A. Institute this evening. A danco is also being held this evening, at the Feathorston Town Ball.
Sergeant R. Chamtaloup, of the 39th Specialists, has boon transferred to tho 41st Specialist.?. The Camp Commandant has approved of the appointment of Corporal J. G. Jarrott, of tho Machine-Gun Section of tho 39fch SpccialistSj to bo sergeant.
