The Anchor Co.'s steamer Kennedy is now expected to arrive at Wellington from Foxton to-morrow to go on the patent slip on Friday for cleaning and painting. Mr Tom McGovern, a well-known member of the Wellington Waterside Workers’ Union for many years, died at his residence, 98, Abel Smith street, on Monday after a long illness. The union will bo represented at the funeral this afternoon. Mr K. Fraser, fifth engineer of the Mararoa. has signed off the vessel's articles. Cathie, Dempster and. Co. advise that tho. Woottpn, which is due back at Wellington on Friday from Lyttelton, is to here to the Marlborough Sounds to load sheep.

The Corinna, which sailed from Wellington last might for Nelson and New Plymouth, is to leave the Taranaki port to-morrow evening for Wellington. On Friday evening the vessel will sail from here for Dunedin, Oamaru. and Timaru. Tho ilonowai is to leave Auckland at 2 p.m. to-day for Wellington via ports. She is due here on Saturday morning, and will sail on Saturday afternoon direct for Dunedin.

INVERCARGILL AND BLENHEIM. As the Invercargill is to remain at Wanganui to-day, tor an overhaul, which will detain her till Friday, tho Blenheim is to sail from Wellington to-mor-row at 5 p.m. for Wanganui. The Blenheim is . due back at Wellington on Saturday, and will sail on Mondy night for Havelock and Pelorns Sound. The Invercargill is due back at Wellington on Saturday from Wanganui, and will sail on Monday again for that port.

THE AWAROA AT LAUNCESTON. The Hobson’s Bay steamer Awaroa, formerly engaged in the Day’s Bay ferry service, which was recently purchased at auction ■ by Messrs-J. B. Ellecker Pty-, Ltd,, of Melbourne, for JUOOO, and on the winding up'of ' that concern passed under tho control of the Inter-State Trading Agency, is to be sent to Lounceston tq be converted into a cargo-carrier.
