AN INTERESTING RECORD. Interesting records, in uonncction with tho steamer Murray have been disclosed by tho sale of the well-known collier, which has just been completed at a certain port. The Murray is one of the oldest steamers afloat. She was built away back in 1859 at Glasgow. T. B. Seath and Co. were the builders, and after an interesting career on the other side of the world she took up running on tho New Zealand coast, and afterwards went to Australia and entered the coal trade. The ship’s register reveals the fact that the Murray has sailed under a dozen or more different owners. The Murray has just been purchased by Messrs J. Johnston and W. Ward, and will continue running in the coal trade. OVERHAUL 'AT WANGANUI. Johnston and Co. advise that the steamer Invercargill is to remain at Wanganui for a few days this week to undergo her periodical overhaul there. Tho vessel will get away from Wellington this evening for Wanganui, and is not expected back here till about next Saturday. THE AMOKURA. The Government training steamer Amoknra is to leave Wellington .next Friday for Auckland. The Monowai will leave Wellingtonnext Saturday evening for -Dunedindirect, omitting the customary call at Lytttelton. Owing to tho vessel’s late arrival at Auckland yesterday morning from Wellington via ports, she will not sail on the return trip until to-morrow afternoon, and will reach Wellington on Saturday morning. JOHN AND PUTIKI DETAINED. The steamer John was detained at Wellington yesterday owing to a shortage of waterside labour. The vessel is now timed to leave here to-day for, Wanganui. is due back on Thursday morning at Wellington, and- is to sail on Thursday afternoon for southern ports.
