Tait’s New Comedy Company is cerating muo liinterest among thoatre—‘Cl'S, and no doubt a hearty welcome will be extended to tho company on Saturday evening at the Grand Opera House, when “The Now Henrietta’’ will be presented. ■‘The New. Henrietta” is an exciting comedy drama by Wincholl Smith and Victor Mapes. in four acts. The title refers to a mine and tho manipulation of shares on the Stock Exchange. It is the schemes to get possession cf the money that keeps the audience in a centinnai simmer of excitement, and although there is an ample quantity of real c medy there are many dramatic incidents as novel as they are exciting. Mr Walter P. Richardson, who played “Joe Basccmb” in “Turn to tho Right,” ap--earg as Nicholas Vat Alstyne, and he ’ ■ credited with presenting a wonderful character study of the old man. Vrss Lizetto Farkes as Agnes Gates has aor pic scope for her talents, and Miss Gertrude Sum ners, an American artist, will make her first appearance in Wellington. Curing tho recent season in Auckland “The New Henrietta” made a phenomenal success. and in the opinion of many it is a more interesting play than “Turn to the Right.” and the critics in other parts of tlvj Dominion have nothing but praise ior boih play and players. The stage settings and furnishings are said to he most elaborate and provide handsome stage pictures.. Misses Gwen Dorise, Francos Anderson, Messrs John Junior. Stapleton Kent, Maurice Dudley. Gerald Harcourt. and C;vle>nn Stuart have all got congenial roles, and Mr Gaston Mervale is also included in the cast in addition to being responsible for tho production of the play.
