CHRISTCHURCH INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE
WATERSIDERS AND THE EFFICIENCY BOARD. AN AGREEMENT ARRIVED AT. • Press Association. ‘ CHRISTCHURCH, November 21. An agreement has been arrived at between the watersiders and the Efficiency Board regarding work at Lyttelton and the running of the late train. It provides that work on coastal steamers shall cease at 6 o’clock. Extra time only to bo worked with the consent of a special committee appointed, by the workers and shipowners, consisting of two representatives _ from each and an independent chairman. The work on oversea and intercolonial ships is to cease at 9.30 p.m. and a special train will leave at 9.45 p.m. for Christchurch, carrying only those actually working on or about ships. The agreement is to continue in force for three months and will be automatically continued until suggestions for amendment are made by the parties concerned.
