A CURIOUS POSITION. Er Telegraph—Press Asaociatior—Ovnyrlght (Received November 18, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 18. The election returns are still incomplete. The second counts disclosed the defeat of Mr Mcßcnzie, Minister for Railways, Mr Madden, the Speaker, while Mr Agar Wynne, ex-Post-maater-Gcnoral re-enters public life as member for St. Ivilda.
Labour won Jikajika from tho Liberals.
Later returns emphasise the defeat of the Peacock }lmisti,-y ’ and "the success of the new Nationalist party, which includes many, previous Peacock supporters. Tho position is curious. Mr Peacock probably will tender the resignation of the Ministry on Monday.
