FRENCH CLUB

The annual meeting of this club was hold. on Thursday evening, under the presidency of Captain Barclay. Tho treasurer submitted an interim balance-sheet. It was resolved that a concert on behalf of the French Rod Cross Society should be the only other meeting of the session. It was announced that Miss Aubrey Harverson, of the . Girls' College, was the winner of the gold medal at tho club’s recent examination. She is to be asked to recite at the forthcoming concert. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr J. Macintosh, French Consular Agent; president, Captain Barclay; vice-presi-dents, Sir Robert Stout, Sir Francis Bell, M.L.C., Mr Hudson, Air Latter, Airs A, AI. Myers, Airs Seville. ALidame Dechanet Mclntosh, Aliss Van Sfcavereu ; treasurer, Aliss Alead ; librarian, Mr T. H. AVhelton; committee, Madame Simon. Alisses Hind, AI.A., Allan, AI.A., and Lockie, Alessrs G. B. Adamson, B. W. White, and J. Hodson ; general secretary, Air C. J. Cooke. 8.A.; minute secretary Aladame Dechanet Alclutosh. There was some discussion on the questions of the amount of subscriptions to bo charged,' and of the management of the club’s meetings, but finally these matters were Jeft to the incoming committee.
