BURGLARIES IN THE CITY

ALLEGED HOUSE-BREAKER ARRESTED. Two bouses were broken into in Wellington recently, and about £6O m money and jewellery stolen. Yesterlay Plain Clothes Constables Black and Bui)nett arrested a man named Warien on a charge of breaking into and stealing from the houses in question. Dho of the houses is situated in Kelourn and the other in Newtown. The strange part about the affair is that the occupier of one of the houses in question knew nothing of his loss until ho was shown by the police the property stolen.
