BOAT HELD UP

WATEBSEDERS DECLINE WORK,

No start was made yesterday to un. load the steamer which arrived at Wellington on Thursday with a load of general cargo, that the watersiders have refused to handle declaring it was loaded by strike-breakers. Before 8 o’clock yesterday a call was made for men to unload the cargo, and although there was an abundance of watersiders none offered to take an engagement. A second call about 9 a.m. for men to coal the steamer met with no response.
