AN INTERESTING QUESTION. In reply to a question asked in the House of Representatives by Mr J. S. Dickson (Parnell) as to whether the Finance Minister will take power Under the Finance Bill to compel the banks in the Dominion to extend the time from two years to four years in which to pay off a loan which is advanced on the war debentures, Sir Joseph Ward stated that this is not a matter in which the Government can interfere. It is purely a question as between the banks and their clients.
