The annual Grystalate Cup amateur championship commences this evening in Messrs Alcook and Co.’s showrooms. The contestants for tho first two games are; D. H. Dennison (Mail Room Club) v. W. N. Tucker (Federal Club); C. E. Tyrrell {Post and Telegraph Club) v. W. S. Brice (Petono Working Men’s Club), The draw for the remaining games is; R. F. Maokay v. P. G. Devine, H. Stone v. J. Brackenridgo, G. J. Hoffeins v. >T. Brown, A. J. Congdon v. N. P Dunlop, G. Stewart v. R. G. Sim, J. P. Key v. A. Wakem. R. Russell plays tho winner of tho game between Dennison and Tucker, and A. J. Chandler the winner of the game between Tyrrell and Brice. The tournament will be played on tho knock-out’’ principle, and really represents tho amateur club championship of the Wellington district.
