N.S.W. STRIKE
SPREADS IN VARIOUS DIRECTIONS RAILWAY AND TRAMWAY SERVICES RESTRICTED. 8r Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 3. 11.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 3. The strike has spread to the fuehnen at tho Eveleigh locomotive .sheds, the brassmouldcrs at Randwick, and the boilermakers at the Newcastle Railway Workshops, endangering the railway service, which has restricted tho timetable which existed during the coal strike. A largo section of the railway and tramway employees remain. The local tramway services ' are being further curtailed, disorganising the ferries. Tho local races to-morrow have been postponed. Conferences arc proceeding without improving the situation. UNION DELEGATES OPPOSE GENERAL STRIKE. (Received August -I, 1.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 3. At a meeting of union delegates, the majority opposed a general strike, and it was deckled to ask tho Government to appoint a Royal Commission to inquire into the card system. There will bo a further curtailment of the railway service to-morrow.
