Payne (Croy Lynn) gave notice yesterday io ask the Prime Alinister. “I may as well answer that question at once (said Air Alassoy) ; and my answer is that- the s'utement or rumour is absolutely incorrect. Speaking for rnysolx', I have r.o desire to leave New Zealand, and I know that :Sew Zealand cannot do without me. (Loud laughter.) So far is I am able to judge, there will bo no change in the High Commissionership fur seme time.”
