Damages were recently awarded to the New Zealand Shipping Company in the Admiralty Division against the owners of the steamer Manchester Inventor, as the result of a collision between that vessel and the plaintiff company's steamer Opawa in the Manchester Ship Canal on December 24th, 1915. Tho sale of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s exploration steamer Aurora is confirmed. The Aurora, which is a wooden craft, of 580 tons gross, was built at Dundee in 1876. She is 165 ft long by 31ft in beam, with a depth of 18ft. In 1905 she was fitted with a new boiler. The vessel has been purchased by a British buyer. The price paid is not stated. The coastal steamer Orepuki is due at Wellington to-morrow from Nydia Bay partly loaded with timber which is consigned wholly to Lyttelton. McArthur, Jeffries 'and Co. state that tho vessel will load motor-cars and general cargo at this port for Lyttelton, and will sail southward on Monday evening. THB BREEZE. Mr B. G. P. Zohrab advises that tho Canterbury Co.’s steamer Breeze,' which is duo back to-day from Wanganui, is now timed to sail on Monday, instead of to-day, for Dunedin, Timaru and Lyttelton. THE WOOTTON. The coastal steamer Wootton is du© at Wellington to-morrow from Lyttelton, and will sail on Monday for the Marlborough Sounds to transfer some cattle to knother place. THE HIMITANGI.' The departure of the Himitangi from Wellington for Lyttelton has been postponed till noon to-day. Tho vessel is due back hero on Tuesday. THE HUIA.
