ILLNESS CAUSED IN - DUNEDIN. Press Association, . DUNEDIN. July 10, Cases of illness have occurred recently among several families m North Dunedin, tho symptoms being nausea and severe vomiting. Investigation by tho Health Department and analysis by Mr G. M. Thomson. Government Analyst, have proved that the illnesses were* caused by eating sago among which arsenic was mixed. All the families affected obtained sago from one grocer, who had bo\jght a hundredweight from a wholesale merchant. Nearly a hundred kegs of the same article arrived here bv the same steamer, but analysis has proved that the contents of only one keg contained arsenic. Tho sago camo from Singapore.
