INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION
MEETING OF COMMITTEEA meeting of the general committee of ,the Wellington Provincial Industrial Association was held last evening in the Technical School buildings. Mr F. J. Evans presided. Mr H. Tombs was elected a member of the chamber. A letter was received, from tho Wellington Chamber of Conlmerce, stating that tho articles of .that body had been amended, so as to extend the representation of its council. / The meeting decided to elect Mr Evans (president) to be the representative of the chamber. A report of tho committee who visited tho steam laundry of tho Union Steamship Company of Now Zealand, at Evans Bay, was'read. The report showed that tho laundry is a model and a modern one- The report was adopted. , j A statement was made by Mr W ard to the effect that one of his employees had brought under his notice the desirability of utilising waste products. Mr Ward offered to give £2 2s as a' prize to any workman of the members of the association who was most successful in this direction. Tho chairman, on behalf of the association, thanked Mr Ward for his generous offer. Accounts amounting to £7 10s were passed for payment.
