Gisborne and Napier, is to berth at No. 10. Jorvois quay. About 278 tons of cargo will be discharged hero. The Vessel ip to sail at 5 p.m. to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The coastal- steamer John Is due back at Wellington to-morrow morning from Wanganui, and will sail in. the evening probably for Timaru and Dunedin. The Komata . for Westport and the Kamo for Groymouth are expected to leave Wellington to-morrow. As the Kini did not got away from Dunedin until yesterday afternoon for Ontnarn and Wellington she will not arrive hero before Thursday morning. The vessel will sail on Thursday eveninn for Westport. THE MAGIC. News by telegraph reached WoUington that the auxiliary scow Magic was di charging coal from Puponga ytMtr y pxetou. The vessel was expected to sail iast U night for Sandy Bay to load stone for Wellington, where she is due towards the end of the week.

THE BLACKBALL BOATS. The Blackball Co.'s steamer Ngahere is due back at Wellington to-morrow morning from Greymouth, and after putting out part cargo of coal here is to sail to-morrow night for Napier with which left Wenington. last night for Picton and Greymouth, is to load at the last-mentioned port for Lyttelton or Wellington. The Ngatoro is due at Wellington next Saturday morning .from Auckland and Limestone Island via port, with geneial cargo and cement. The vessel will probably go on to Wanganui and New Plymouth to complete discharge.
defender bar-bound. Bannatyno and Co. .were advised bj telegraph yesterday, that the steamer Defender, timber-laden for .Wellington, was bar-bound at Hokitika. The message added that the vessel is expected to sail to-day, and therefore should arrive here on Thursday. In the meanwhile the Defender is tuned to sail on Friday for Picton and Hokitika. THE HIMITANGI. The Chatham Islands Co.'s steamer Hiraitangi will arrive at Wellington this afternoon from the Chatham islands via Lyttelton. The cargo includes a quantity of frozen fish. The vessel is to sail at midday to-morrow for VValtangi, Owenga, and Pitt Island, to load stock for Lyttelton. ADDRESS TO WATERSIDERS. An address to waterside workers and others was delivered in Quay street, Auckland, at lunch hour on Thursday by the Anglican City Missioner, Mr Arthur P. Cowie. The speaker took for hia sub-, jeot the remarks of our Lord bearing on the sins of this world. When reading the only real explanation of all sin, dissension, strife and false ministrations, as contained in the third chapter of Genesis, could be traced the reason for so much unrest In the world, as being the result of man withdrawing his love which should bo for the Creator, and adhering to the advice and; government of Satan and hia host of agencies which are scattered throughout the world. Man loved to theorise, when a practical knowledge of God and His ways would lead to tho betterment of every social condition. The speaker was listened to with marked attention. FOG AT WELLINGTON. A thick fog settled over Welington harbour throughout yesterday and necessitated special care on the part of shipmasters. The signal station at Seatoun reported that the fog was almost continuous at the entrance from 1 a.m. on Sunday till midnight last night, when a north-east breeze sprang up and the mist began to clear. Drizzling rain set in late in the afternoon and continued throughout'the evening.
