The Bank of Now Zealand have received the following cable from their London office;—“The wool sales have closed very firm.” LIVE tiTOCK SALES ADDINGTON MARKET. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. April 11. At the Addington market the entries of stock were much smaller than usual on account of tile holidays and wet weather. Fat: cattle told well on account of tho shortage in offerings and tho fat lamb market was very firm. Store sheep ware also in very fair demand, but prices at tho opening of the sale were somewhat easier. Fat sheep, whieff were mostly medium quality owes, sold well, especially towards the end of the sale. Store cattle were dull of sale and pigs were in fair demand. Store sheep.—Two-tooth owes 26 s 3d to 36s 9d, four and six-tooth ewes 27s to 23s 6d, six and eight-tooth ewes 12s 9d to 36a 9d, sound-mouth owes 21s 3d to 34s 3d, four and. six-tooth ewes 24s 9d, sound-mouthed wethers 18s 3d to 235, w-other lambs 16s 3d. two and four-tooth wethors 15s 3d to 18s Id, ewe lambs 19® 7d, mixed sex lambs 12s Id to 19s 6u. Fat lambs.—Extra prime to 38s 9d. prime 28s 6d to 325. medium 24s 6d to 28s, unfinished 17s to 245. Fat sheep.—Prime wethers 35s to 39* 3d, lighter wethers 27s Id to 34s 6d, prime owes 34s to 38s, medium ewes 28s to 33s 6d. lighter ewes 17s to 27s 6d. BURNSIDE MARKET. Press AR'nr’ntinn. DUNEDIN, April 11. At Burnside to-day 100 fat cattle were penned. Competition started very keen, but towards the finish prices were about equal to last week’s rates. Extra prime bullocks A 24 10s, prime' A 22. ordinary AlB 10s prime heifers Al 7 10s. Sheep—237B were penned. The butchers competed keenly, and * prices advanced about Is except for light and unfinished sorts. Extra prime heavy wethers 52s 9d. prime 45s 9d to 49s 9d, medium 37s to 42s 6d. light 30s to 335, extra prime heavy ewes 50s 9d, prime 40s to 46s 3d, medium 34s to 38s, light 26s to 31s. Lambs —1648 were penned. A large proportion ivere of medium quality. Freezing buyers were cautious. Best sorts 295, medium 265, light 235. Pigs—Tli ero was a small yarding and a keen demand. Best baconers 73s 4d (8d per lb), porkers 9d per lb. WELLINGTON CUSTOMS. The Customs revenue received at Wellington yesterday totalled A 2028 6s Bd.
