PAINTERS’ CONFERENCE

SOME RESOLUTION'S. Press Association. WANGANUI, April 11. The Dominion conference of the New Island Federation of Painters and Dochvators concluded to-day. It was resolved that the national executive should take a ballot of affiliated memdors on the question of cancelling their registration under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act. It was further decided to urge all affiliated unions to seek affiliation with tho United Federation of Labour. Tho conference also passed a resolution stressing tho need for legislation to prohibit the use of whitelead in paints, owing to its injurious effect on workers.
