The track was in excellent condition, and there was a very large attendance, The totalisator put through ■£46,443, against 2245,484 last year, an increase of X 959. Tabasco and Fionnuala marie the early running from Glenopai, Kauri King, Hyllus, and Llanishen. the straight Fionnuala was done with. Kauri King, Glenopai. and Llanishen challenged the leader, and going on Glenopai won easily by three lengths, .Llanishen two lengths away. Royal Rufus was fourth. Time, 2min 9sec. The winner earned 171 b overweight. GREAT NORTHERN OAKS, Of 600 sovs; one mile and a. half. 3 Tressida, 8.10 (Buchanan) 1 1— Devotion, 9.1 J 2 Mascot, 8.10 3 Also started—7 Erroneous 8.10, 3 Rekanui 8.10, 6 Sunny Climes 8.10. 1 Waiuta 8.10. Eekanui led to the straight, where the field closed up. Tressida assumed command at the distance, and won comfortably by a length and a half. Time, 2min 37sec. BRIGHTON HURDLES, Of 330 sovs; two miles. 2—Plymouth, .10.8 (B. McSweeney) ... 1 4 Tararu Jack, 11.6 - I—Tenacious,1 —Tenacious, 11.1 3 Also started 8 Gluepot, 6 Guiding Way, 7 Glemlalough, 3 Ulster, 5 Fisher, 9 Cokely, 10 Sylvan, Knight. Fisher carried on the running_ down the back from Gluepot, Sylvan Knight, Plymouth, and Tararu Jack. xisher was ten lengths in front four furlongs from home when he struck a hurdle, losing his rider. Plymouth led in the straight and won all out by two lengths from Tararu Jack (who hit the last fence), and Tenacious six lengths away third. Time, 3min 49sec. Lingerie was first out and led to the straight, where Hymestra and Simonides put in a challenge. A good race resulted, the favourite winning by half a length.
