As chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board (the secretary has already written the Minister -for Railways on the matter), Mr Baldwin pointed out to the Hon. W. H. Herries last week that the board has n contract with a_ milkman for a supply from the Hutt district, and that it would mean a lot of inconvenience if the milk could not be brought in on a Sunday. The Minister stated, in reply,- that ho was informed that all the. milk that cams from Makara side cam© in by motorlorry on Sunday. It seemed to him chat the sum© system could be introduced with regard to the milk from the Hutt Valley. It would not be reasonable to expect a train to be run especially for the milk. It would bo breaking into tb 0 principle of no Sunday trains, which was one of the cardinal features of the “cut.” Ha asked the Hospital Board to consider if that could not be done.
