M.P.’S AND APPELLANTS

DICTUM OF CANTERBURY i BOARD. Press Association. REiBFTON, April 2. At a meeting of the Canterbury (Military Service Board, held at Reefton to-day, tho solicitor engaged in a case handed in a communication received from tho head of a department in Wellington by Mr P. C. Webb, M.P., in reply to representations made by him respecting an appellant. Tho chairman declined to receive or consider any communication, stating that tho board took no notice whatever of correspondence between members of Parliament on behalf of their conventions and the military authorities. If members of Parliament had any evidence to bring before the board they could be heard as ordinary witnesses, and their evidence would receive full consideration; but tho board would not consider any communications by members of Parliament on behalf of appellants.
