As a result of some blundering on the part of the city authorities a very awkward position was gtft over by tho tact of tho parties concerned at an open-air meeting on Saturday evening- The- Wellington L.R-.C. have permits to speak in Ghuznee street on Saturday nights, and when tho speakers arrived there on Saturday evening they found tho Salvation Army in possession. The Army chief stated that tho city authorities had given him temporary permission. The Wellington L.R.C. pointed out that they had prior right. Both, parties recognised that it was the fault of the city authorities, and tho Army decided to cut their meeting short, so that the Labour meeting could bo held. To-morrow will be tho last day on which citizens can enrol to vote at the coming municipal elections. Lists may be seen at the Town Hall.
