SOME BIG FIGURES. PAID FOR NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE. The official returns made up to March 19th as to tho supplies of New Zealand produce sent forward for Imperial purposes contain some very big ;figures. Tho total paymenta/for meat to date are no less than £1,0,420,8-13; while the total for cheese is £1,268,384; wool, £8,308,893; and scheolito, £60,191. The details are as under: — Meat (operations commenced March 3rd, 1915): Arrived at destination, in 142 steamers, 1,146,531 quarters of beef, 4,680,593 carcases of mutton, 6,476,042 carcases of lamb. The total payments to date are £15,420,843 (including payments for cargoes on route and loading). Cheese (operations commenced No-' vember 4th, 1916) : , 1915-16 season, total shipped and arrived at destination, 189,502 crates; total payments, £917,748. 1916-17 season, shipped and arrived at destination. 9262 crates; total payments to date, £1,268,384 (including payments for cargoes on route and leading). Wool (operations commenced December Ist, 1916): Total number of bales valued, 399,615: total number of bales shipped, 197,963; number of steamers arrived at destination,' 6, with 44,717 bales; number of bales , available, for shipment, 201,562; „uuro!bpr„of, which space has been ■ allotted which-re* ■-- main in. store, 111,473 ; r ' total" ’number of bales paid for, 356,220; total payments, £8,308,893.
