FIRE AT THE HUTT
BELLE VUE HOTEL DESTROYED
At an early hour this morning a big blazo was observed on the lower portion of the hills on tho eastern side of the Hutt Valley, apparently near Lower Hutt, Flames could be seen rising high in the air and heavy volumes of smoke were being carried towards tho harbour by the strong northerly wind.
A telephone message at 2.30 stated that the Belle Vue Gardens Hotel had been destroyed—“a total loss, not a stick saved.”
