THE WOOL CLIP
AGREEMENT COME TO BUYING TO START AT ONCE. Another conference was held at tho Parliament Buildings yesterday between the Minister for Agriculture (the Hon. W. D. S. MacDonald), wool-buyers, and valuers, and negotiations almost reached finality. The only details remaining to be dealt with are as to fellraongers and scoured wool, contracts for the purchase of which had already been entered on. The arrangement which has been come to with regard to the purchase of wool generally on behalf of the Imperial Government is that J-014 prices shall be taken as'a basis, with an advance that will approximately bring values up to something approaching what obtained Last year. Details were decided on for the valuing of the wool available by 28 valuers, and a commencement will he made with the purchase of various lots in Napier to-day. The wool-brokers provide for storage, and valuers are to he compensated on a basis which will provide them with reasonable expenses in the same manner as if they had anted in their regulai capacity as buyers acting for various firms. in the case of any dispute arising it will be settled by a reference. tc .a broker’s valuer, Government valuer, and arbitrator, and Provision is made for an appeal to a Wellington executive.
