At Marten Junction on Tuesday night. Stationmaster J. Petrie, who has r been, transferred to Feildmg, was fareweiled by railwayman and residents of Marton Junction, and was presented _ -with » barometer, in token of appreciation of services rendered. The Rev. H. Steele Craifc, of tba Mount Eden Congregational Church, Auckland, who has left /or camp, preached his' farewell sermon on Sunday evening and was heartily bidden farewell by a large congregation. Mr G. M. Thomson, formerly M.P. for Dunedin North arrived at Auckland by the steamer Westralia from Sydney on Monday.
