credit must be awarded to the capable orchestra which performed the fine incidental music under the control of the pianist-conduo‘or, Mr Horace Keats. There was an appropriately American flavour in some of the music, but a commendable reticence was noticeable in this regard, good classical operatic selections being - largely drawn upon to work up the excitement for the dramatic climaxes. There will he eight more night performances of "The Birth of a Nation” with a matinee on Saturday next at 2-30 p.m.
