“WASHING-UP” BILL
BEAD A THIRD TIME. The consideration of the Washing-Up Bill in committee was then resumed. On clause 20, further postponing the date of valuation of certain leases granted by the Wellington City Council, J)r Newman hoped that that vas the last time that the valuation would be postponed, as it was an important mat ter to the City Council. He also assed whether the Commission previously promised to deal with the matter would be G. W. Eussell replied that the Commission would be set up, and it would report in time for legislation to be carried next session. He assured the bon. member that there would be ro further postponement of the valuation. On the motion of the Prime Minister, clause 52, making ■''revision for authorising owners of factories, etc., to Uy water pipes under roads or streets, was deleted. . . ■ The remaining clauses of the bill were passed practically without comment. The bill was then read a third time and passed.
